Good ones, little sir!

Sorry for the delay but with one things and another, I could not find the time to sit quietly and write the long-awaited letter… Hahaha.

How is everything over there? Where exactly are you now? Because since you don’t stop, I don’t even know where you are… Hahaha. Anyway, wherever you are, I hope that everything goes smoothly, and you learn many things so that later you can teach us.

I’ll tell you a little bit about my busy life… Hahaha. I was a couple of weeks ago in PUNTA CANAAA for the grad trip, amazing, the paradise that every person has to visit at least once… We were also lucky that a friend of mine had another friend there and she took us out one entire day out of the hotel complex and we were seeing the poorest area around, known as “El Hoyo” where the poorest people of Punta Cana live… There, I also learned about the difficult life that especially Haitians have, because after having several problems with the government, they have no right to practically anything. Those who do not have their documentation and therefore are considered illegal are thrown out of the country. Also, among them, they are super racist. A Dominican cannot even practically speak with a Haitian. They are like the poor brothers, those whom nobody loves… It was tormenting. We met a single father and a little boy of about 3 years old, Haitian both of them. Since Haitians do not have the right to public education, the father had been fighting for his child to go to school for 2 years and after multiple tricks of various lawyers, he had finally gotten him accepted into a private school, where he had to pay about 50 euros a month. His salary is 150 €/month.

I learned thousands of amazing stories… And I was horrified by the great economic and social difference between each other… There, either you are rich or poor… There is no middle ground…

On the other hand, we took a lot of gifts that we had the opportunity to give to the little kids we met on the streets, so we made them happy. Things as simple as pencils, rubbers, balls, little notebooks… They were always enormously grateful and with a bright smile on their face. It was truly an amazing experience.

For the rest, the trip was impressive. We coincide with a group from telecommunication, and another from IT. All of them very nice. A lot of party, a lot of dancing, the one I like, and eating constantly. Hahaha. Me… In my own element. Hahaha

For the rest… I am going to see if I get the summer instructor certificate for the summer. I think I will… I passed everything… And now, I am practicing at a children’s residence called “José Montero”. I am with about 8 children in the afternoons. Children whose families cannot take care of them, and the residence helps them with their maintenance. They eat there, they take a shower, they do their homework, they play, they have dinner … The truth is that there are some of them that are very difficult to bear, but you find out about family stories and you can’t ask for more… But they are generally very cute. They have a good nature and a huge lack of affection… Besides, I have a great time. There are gypsies, and among the “chacho”, “payoponi”, “God bless you”, and “aggguela”… One cannot help but laughing.

For the rest, I need to stop and reflect calmly on my future, which I don’t have very clear. I am not very aware about the fact that this year everything is already over, and that I must continue… My idea, you know, is to leave this place… I need it, and you know it, and I know it. And nothing else… I’m looking at some things and others. This week, I have to renew the curriculum and start making a living like crazy!!!

I need a change of scenery, and I realize more and more that I can be of great help in multiple places It is time to get started and help in any way I can.

Now, time to continue dreaming, to seek life, and to undertake all personal projects,. Time flies!!! We are young and we must take advantage of it!!!!
